Part four of four in our experimental Barrel Series from Howell Mountain is the complex and elegant finale. Cascading flavors of cherry, cedar, and sweet tobacco leaf complement the pepper, smoke, and earthy tones, finishing with strong tannins and barrel spice.
At an elevation of 1,400 feet above sea level, Howell Mountain sits high above Napa Valley and is one of the most heralded Cabernet Sauvignon growing regions in the world. Wine was reserved from each of the first three different barrels before bottling, then blended together and aged an additional year in 100% French Oak Gamba Barrels. Acidity from the Radoux barrels, the tight grain, earth and caramel from the Tonnelerie Ô barrels, along with the soft vanilla, fruit and structure the Gamba Barrels make this wine dance with each sip and deliver a full body wine experience. The additional year in French Oak allows the barrels to come together to create a velvety smooth and well-structured mouthfeel.
